Cody Osborne

Founder & Director of Goaltender Development

Cody Osborne began playing goalie in 1994 and has studied with Oilers Hall-of-Famer Bill Ranford, the U of A Golden Bears, Gold In The Net, Goalie Academy and Brent Brandford. 


His coaching credentials include:


Mentored and worked alongside Stanley Cup Champion Goalie Coach Mitch Korn and Former Maples Leafs Goalie Coach Steve McKichan as well as other USport and WHL coaches. Attended the Network Goaltending Symposium in Nashville. 


Hockey Canada Training: Online Coach 1/2 & Development 1 (Passed)

Cody has authored a goalie development workbook & online goalie training program. for goalies, coaches & parents.


Outside of the game, he has worked with the Edmonton Oilers in ticket sales, the AJHL Whitecourt Giants as a Sports Marketing Consultant and with the international sports marketing agency SDI Marketing for the Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer event in 2012. He enjoys bringing his young daughter to the rink to watch and film athlete's games. Cody carries on-ice consultant liability insurance.


Our staff roster is filled with talented, engaging and passionate men and women, some of which currently play and formally played junior hockey and collegiate hockey. We strive to build each camp with instructors that educate and inspire our athletes to be and perform at their best.


Lead Instructor

Backstopping her second season with the U of A Pandas, including last year's CIS Championship, Kirsten has played for Team Alberta and Edge Hockey in Calgary. On the ice with PGI, she has helped many of our goalies learn new skills and refine their technique.

Drafted by the WHL Saskatoon Blades in 2012, Brandon went on to play with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and two seasons with the BCHL Salmon Arm Silverbacks. He is a Leduc native that brings a wealth of knowledge having worked with Edmonton Oilers Goalie Coach Dustin Schwartz as well as Head Trajectory pioneer Lyle Mast. He is now focusing on giving back to the hockey community where he strives to help goalies with the skills they need to get to the next level.

Lead Instructor

Now playing with the AJFHL Edmonton Wolves, Ariana and the Wolves are 2019 Provincial Champions. Her collegiate career includes playing for the Red Deer College Women’s team as well as more award-winning play in the AFJHL as Goalie of The Year for the South Division with the Central Alberta Amazon.  She also played NCAA Div 3 hockey for the Daniel Webster College, Women’s team. She is a fantastic coach with a good rapport with all ages and experience levels.

Lead Instructor

Tracie is the small but mighty former goalie of the ACAC Red Deer College Women's hockey team. She now plays with the AJFHL Sherwood Park Steel. Her knowledge of the position comes from years of training as a netminder. Her ability to refine and combine a goaltender's on and off-ice training makes her a huge asset to the staff.

Erynn has been with PGI for three seasons. Her commitment to education has brought her to the University of Alberta to study education. She won the 2019 AFJHL Provincial Championships and she also served a goalie in the 2019 AJFHL All-star game. 

Tara Bouvette

Lead Instructor

Formally of the ACAC NAIT Ooks Female Hockey team, Tara grew up playing in Kamloops on her Championship Midget Minor team. On the ice with PGI, she has guided our youngest and oldest goalies to new heights with her deep insights into goaltending and athletic greatness.

Mekenzie Erickson

Lead Instructor

Simply put - Mekenzie is the backbone of our on-ice operations ensuring stations are correctly installed and run on time. As a lifelong goaltending enthusiast and more recently a PGI disciple, Mekenzie is not only a student of the position but also a passionate instructor. He has assisted with PGI camps, evaluations, and association sessions. Mekenzie strives to embody PGI's Goalie Development Program and ensure the highest level of success for our goaltenders.

Lyndsy Maksym 

Lead Instructor

As one of PGI's resident gear experts, Lyndsy is a 'go-to' for providing our goalies with expert advice on proper sizing and proper style. She played minor hockey from the age of 11 in Vancouver before moving to Alberta in 2004 where she played competitive women’s hockey for 12 years. She has been coaching goaltending in minor hockey since 2006 and is the Chair of Goaltender Development for the Edmonton Girls Hockey Association. 

Jill Diachuk

Jill played out her 5 years of eligibility with the NAIT Ooks, where she backstopped them to 3 consecutive ACAC Titles. She brings a keen eye for positioning and developing the fundamentals skills to succeed as a goaltender. Jill is looking forward to giving back to the goaltending community and give insight on her post secondary career for the older goaltenders.

Kristen is both a coach and athlete with PGI. When she's not coaching the NAIT Ooks Women's Hockey Team, she's playing and training for Team Canada's Ball Hockey Team. She has led PGI camps and evaluations. She will be once again coaching for Hockey Alberta in this year's Winter Games.

Dr. Briana Botsford

Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Botsford has completed specialized training in sports medicine and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Ironman Triathlete, she is an expert in the physical, psychological and nutritional needs of athletes. Dr. Botsford helps her patients achieve their best health through individualized care and by finding and treating the root cause of a wide variety of health conditions.

Marek Komar

Mental Performance Consultant

Marek is a mental performance consultant and sport scientist with experience working with elite athletes and teams, as well experience playing high level competitive sport himself. His goal is to guide people in forming a healthy, confident, and happy individual ready to perform at their potential. He is interested in a variety of performance and non-performance issues, ranging from effective team communication, life transitions, or finding flow in individual performance.
